Development Manager – Applications

As the MIS Development Manager at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing as the MIS Development Manager?

You will be responsible for building and then managing a team to develop, deliver and maintain new applications. The primary focus of these applications is to deliver systems of differentiation (experience layer) for use by both internal and external customers using SUEZ chosen development platform Mendix.

As the MIS Development Manager you will have an important role determining and realising solutions for our customers based on the Mendix Platform. In consultation with the business, you will determine the needs and translate this to the right solution.

The role requires you to be a hands on developer as well as being an escalation point for your development team.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

With a strong background in complete software / system life cycle development and delivery (implementation, testing and acceptation of software applications), you will require additional experience of managing and leading a team of developers.

Specific technical experience should include Java, Mendix platform (ideally a certified advanced developer), visual modelling with sound knowledge of SCRUM and Agile methodology. You will have implemented software that integrates with an enterprise service bus and big data warehouse / Business Intelligence systems.

You will need to be able to influence business decisions through exceptional negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, forming positive internal and external relationships with customers, strategic partners, outsourced service providers, staff and senior managers.
